Lil Wayne’s interesting reaction to his wax likeness: ‘You tried and I appreciate the effort, but it’s not me’

This Louisiana-born hip-hop icon, widely celebrated as one of the greatest rappers of our time, is now at the center of a social media storm. The culprit? A wax sculpture of Lil Wayne, showcased at the Hollywood Wax Museum in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, since the summer of 2022. This wax incarnation has recently faced relentless criticism from the Twitterverse.

Dwayne Johnson's waxwork to be redone after star criticised huge error - JOE.co.ukWhile the creators deserve credit for their attempt to capture Lil Wayne’s extensive body art, there’s a glaring issue with the face and stature of the rapper. One Twitter user didn’t mince words, saying, “That doesn’t even resemble him. It looks like an outdated mannequin with tattoos and a Tyler Perry wig.”

Lil Wayne's wax figure at the Hollywood Wax Museum savagely roasted on social media after being unveiled

Another witty commentator quipped, “It’s as if they turned New Orleans’ Chucky doll into a tattooed waxwork.”

Yet another Twitter user couldn’t resist jesting, “Why does this resemble what you’d get if Tory Lanez tried (and failed) to dress up as Lil Wayne for Halloween?”

Hip Hop Ties on X: "Lil Wayne's wax figure at the Hollywood Wax Museum is currently going viral https://t.co/oJHneVzzYb" / XAnd, for some, the wax figure resembled a licked, dropped and kicked lollipop on a shag carpet.

While countless Twitter users shared images of Lil Wayne looking bewildered in response to the wax model, there’s been no word on whether the rapper has laid eyes on this oddity.

Strangely enough, another waxwork has surfaced on social media, this time featuring none other than Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. This sculpture, from the Grevin Museum in Paris, caused quite a commotion, prompting the Rock to weigh in on the debate.

While there is some semblance to the Fast and Furious star, particularly in the muscular, bald-headed department, the most striking difference is the color of his skin. Dwayne Johnson’s mixed heritage comes into play here, with a Samoan mother and a Nova Scotian Black father.

In response to the waxwork, Dwayne Johnson shared a video roasting the figure and humorously mentioned working with the Grevin Museum in Paris to update his wax counterpart, starting with the skin color.
